DASTO is the first private national network operator in Macedonia whose aim is to set up a complete functional SDH network throughout the territory of Republic of Macedonia
The network will begin with commercial work in 2009. under the name ZONA.
ZONA will be a digital wireless network built on the platform that connects larger cities and commercial areas in Macedonia. The primary network (backbone) will be based on the NERA InterLink Series "Carrier-Grade" wireless SDH links, in the redundant "ring" configuration, and provides the highest level of quality and reliability.
ZONA technology:
-Capacities of ZONA network will be 8xSTM-1 (1240Mbps).
-Backbone in redundant configuration
-Carrier-Grade Backbone equipment and network design, availability > 99.995%
-IP and TDM (E1, E3, STM-1) interfaces on each location
